Tina Chen, M.D.

Dr. Chen is originally from Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she grew up with her parents and older brother. She attended the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio for her B.S. in Biology. While attaining her undergraduate degree, she spent nearly two years in Taiwan and Costa Rica studying Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. She then returned to Cincinnati to obtain her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Chen completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. During her last year of residency, she was elected to serve as Chief Resident. Upon graduating, she received the Harvey Z. Klein Award for demonstrating exemplary patient care. She then pursued a fellowship in Uveitis and Intraocular Inflammation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Chen’s clinical interests include anterior and posterior uveitis, comprehensive ophthalmology, and cataract surgery. For the treatment of uveitis, she offers topical and systemic medications as well as in-office procedures such as periocular and intraocular injections. For cataract surgery, Dr. Chen offers standard and premium lenses.
Dr. Chen strives to provide the best possible care for her patients. She would like her patients to feel empowered while making informed decisions regarding their care.
In her spare time, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with her husband and family, salsa dancing, and traveling.
